Staggered-width 15″ Fuchs wheels with yellow accents are wrapped in Avon racing tires. Exterior imperfections including dents, scratches, and areas of bubbling are noted in various locations, close-up photos of which can be viewed in the gallery below. The seller reports that the doors and other components have been drilled to eliminate weight for racing purposes. Additional exterior features include decals and numbered roundels, and the car has retained lights and side markers for street use. The car had been previously repainted in metallic gray after the bodywork was done, and the factory Signal Orange finish can be seen in the engine bay. This modified 914-6 is now offered with spare parts, a spare Type 901 2.0L aluminum engine case, a set of BBS 16″ basketweave wheels with Kumho tires, a racing inspection logbook, manufacturer’s literature, service records, and a clean California title.Īccording to the selling dealer, the previous owner purchased the car with M471 GT bodywork installed, including lap-welded steel fender flares, a lightweight roof, factory-stamped GT plexiglass windows, front and rear GT fiberglass hoods with fasteners, and a mesh GT engine lid.
The car is finished in gray over a black interior with a bolt-in roll bar and GT racing seats, and power is supplied by a replacement 3.2-liter flat-six mated to a Type 915 five-speed manual transmission. The vehicle was later acquired by the selling dealer in October 2019.
It was purchased in 1988 by the previous owner, who continued to campaign the car in autocross, hill-climb, and historic events including the 2009 Monterey Historics and Rennsport Reunions in 2011, 2015, and 2018. This 1970 Porsche 914-6 was reportedly modified in the early 1970s for racing and hill-climb events with GT-style bodywork, plexiglass windows, fiberglass hoods, a GT engine lid, chassis and suspension reinforcements, and GT vented brake rotors.
